I had not heard about "SWUGs"
before reading this, but if you're interested in "how the other half lives" -- i.e. the elite and, some would say, overly pampered (and perhaps a wee bit self-pitying) students at famous "Ivy League" universities like Yale -- well, this story gives you an insight. Doesn't sound like such a very happy existence, all in all.
P.S. The "PBR" mentioned in the story is "Pabst Blue Ribbon," a cheap American beer of the kind favored at fraternity parties at US universities.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've seen on TV and read in news it seems to me that students in US (whether they're in high school or later in college) always play some kind of role. Even when they want to play it cool like they're the ones who do not care, they still try to make a big deal of it by forming some group. It's like they can't just be themselves and not to label their position. Well, it's just my impression.
